General Description The Youth Pastor is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of middle and high school students (grades 6 through 12). This includes leadership of weekly programs and periodic special events (camps, conferences, trips, service projects, etc.). Essential Job Functions 1. Lead a team in the creation and operation of a student ministry, including weekly services and routine special events.2. Plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy services for youth.3. Create and manage a student ministry calendar that will drive all the activities and teaching of the ministry.4. Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers as needed to staff weekly programs and special events. .5. Develop and disciple a group of student leaders.6. Implement student registration, program management, and security policies/practices in support of weekly services and special events.7. Cast vision for, teach, and program the churchs events for youth including music selection, development of messages/teaching, and utilization of games and other artistic elements in the inspiration of youth in learning about God.8. Design, plan, and conduct periodic parent meetings in order to meet the needs and expectations of families attending the church.9. Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of student ministry facilities and grounds.10. Work with other staff members to collaborate on events, biblical-based lessons, weekly services, and outreach opportunities.11. Develop an annual budget for youth and outreach ministries. Work with the Senior Pastor and Financial Secretary to ensure adherence to the budget as set forth by the Finance Committee.12. Function as a member of the churchs pastoral staff supporting baptism services, weddings, funerals. etc. as part of a rotation schedule.13. Prepare/preach sermons for Sunday services as assigned by the Senior Pastor.14. Demonstrate professionalism both in and outside of the church setting. Possess a willing heart and the ability to help those around them grow and develop.15. Attend weekly staff meetings as directed by the Senior Pastor.16. Maintain regular office hours as outlined by the Staff Handbook.17. Perform other youth pastoral and outreach duties as assigned. Education/Experience This position requires relevant experience as a staff member in a student ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Biblical studies or Teaching field is required. Comparable ministry or teaching experience may alternatively be substituted to fulfill the experience and education requirements. The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possessing a passion for teaching youth, congregants, and community members about God and the ability to administrate as a department head. A working knowledge of creative programming related to student programs and special events is a real plus.Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearBenefits: Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Work Location: In person
