Since 1970, Family Resources has been the agency to turn to for crisis counseling, safe shelter and safe respite for runaway and homeless teens. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of those who need our help and have no where else to turn. Who we need: The Youth Development Specialist's primary responsibility is for the direct care and supervision of youth in our residential program (shelter). This individual must be able to demonstrate competent judgment, and have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. This role functions within the established guidelines and procedures and reports directly to the Residential Supervisor. Shift(s) Available: FT Friday - Monday 2:30p - 10:30p or Sunday - Thursday PT Friday - Saturday 10:30p - 6:30a/11p-7a or Saturday - Sunday 6:30a-2:30p/7a-3p What you get: Starting Base Pay: $15.00 per hour with Training incentive to $1 increase - Additional $1 increase with tenure Bachelor's Degree (or higher): $17.00 per hour with Training incentive to $1 increase - Additional $1 increase with tenure Benefits offered to those who meet eligibility requirements Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. One-to-Two years general work experience or equivalent number of hours worked in part-time or volunteer work. Work in a direct contact role with youth at risk required. Must demonstrate awareness, acceptance, and ability to work with the LGBT community Must demonstrate awareness and acceptance of cultural differences of clients, staff and community contacts Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Valid driver's license, clear driving record and current automobile insurance. We are an EEOC employer and Drug Free Workplace.
