We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Worthing to assist with the appointment of a Young Carers Keyworker , on a 3 -month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Responsibilities: Provide appropriate interventions and services for children/young people and their families to prevent children and young people taking on inappropriate or excessive caring roles. Plan lead and deliver groupwork activities to young carers of all age ranges as part of a rolling groupwork programme. Develop and deliver youth work programmes in response to the needs of young carers. Attend and participate in planning and delivery of events and related meetings. Undertake effective backssment, review and evaluation of group work in order to monitor outcomes for young carers. Qualifications: NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, demonstrating that level of ability in working with children/young people and families, or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant organisational knowledge of systems, procedures and policiesassociated with operating a client focused service. Knowledge of child and adolescent development and age-appropriatebehaviour relevant to Young Carers. Understanding of current childcare legislation and policy. Knowledge of Safeguarding policies and procedures. Experience of working with children/young people and their families in a crisis situation in order to provide support to families with complex and chronic difficulties. Experience of analysing and interpreting the needs of children and youngpeople within a family context. Significant experience of using a range of direct work interventions inworking with children/young people and their families. Experience of facilitating engaging, structured group sessions and activities. Experience of leading and inspiring young people in a safe and inclusivesetting.
