XLPE Extrusion Machine Operator - Lead

Job Title XLPE Extrusion Operator - Lead Reports To Plant Manager Date: 03/23 /2022 Summary The Extrusion Operator is responsible for efficient production of XLPE Foam using approved proce sse s. The operator is assigned a film line based on experience and shift need and is responsibl e fo r day-to-day operations of that line. Essential Functions Duties can include but are not limited to: Responsible for checking quality of their line at shift change and on an hourly basis. Enters all production information into ERP (computer system) as necessary Ensures that packaging is being done per the correct customer packing specification. Oversee the testin g of treatment, gauge and width specifications. Provide samples to the QA Lab for testing. Check blenders at shift and order changes. Ensure there is a documented 1st piece check sheet for each change over. Must verify all line paperwork is complete and accurate . Make sure all employees have the required PPE ; work zone housekeeping is maintained throughout the shift; and all operators follow all safety policies. Responsible for reporting any defective equipment or safety hazards to Plant Manager. Maintain production rates while main tainin g a quality product. Responsible for preparing for upcoming order changes at least 2 hours in advance. Assist other s when needed. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis. (Team Lift above 30 lbs. ) Must be able to stay on feet for majority of the shift Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel required None Required education and experience Basic computer skills (operating system, email, etc.) Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum of 2+ years prior extrusion experience LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete reports and forms associated with the position Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion s . Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. FLSA Classification Hourly-nonexempt Schedule 1 st Shift 1 2 hour shifts Monday - Wednesday 6 a m - 6pm Thursday: 6a- 10p 2 nd Shift 12 hour shifts Mon - Wednesday 6a m - 6 p m (includes additiona l $1.50/hr shift premium) Will be paid for 40 hours Simple IRA matching Dental / Health / Vision / Company paid Life insurance PTO and Vacation Eligible for Bonuses Opportunities for advancement
