ABOUT ST. ANDREWS AND OUR APPROACH TO WORSHIP Beginning as a small house church in 1996, St. Andrews has grown to be one of the largest churches in the Anglican Mission in America. Our body values accessible worship over performance, and humility and integrity over high production. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Director of Music oversees and leads the musical and audio/visual components of all St. Andrews worship services. This position reports to the Rector and is full time. The ideal candidate should have a heart for the Lord and his people, experience leading teams in a congregational setting, be excited about developing musicians from within the community and eager to lead creatively in a liturgical setting. CHARACTERISTICS able to lead worship in fidelity to scripture, in response to the Holy Spirit, and in rich engagement with the liturgy and sacraments a sincere Christ follower whose way of life leads people into worship experience in leading worship in a variety of contexts and styles musical gifting for vocals and lead instrument ability to train and lead others in their musicianship understanding of and experience in using and developing AV & Production systems experience in recruiting, managing and leading teams of volunteers experience with software such as Planning Center and ProPresenter preferred DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Music will oversee all of St. Andrews worship life, including Service Planning The Director will collaborate with clergy in planning worship services, oversee all volunteer and/or paid musicians and recruit/audition additional musicians, lead the musical component of all Sunday services and Growing in Grace, our mid-week recovery service. Audio/Visual The Director will manage the audio engineer, video producer and lyric projectionist, ensuring excellence in the technical aspects of our in-person and online services. Special Events and Ministries The Director of Worship will oversee music for special events and services on occasions such as Holy Week, Advent, Christmas, funerals, weddings and VBS. Administrative Support A worship program requires excellent administration behind the scenes to execute Sunday services with excellence. The Director will oversee administrative details such as music packets, Planning Center schedules and outlines, check requests for paid musicians, instrument maintenance and tuning, organization of worship and storage spaces and long-range planning.
