Who We AreThis position is with the Supply Chain Product Operations Security Team. The team supports the Next Generation Firewall Business Unit (NGFWBU) which is based in San Jose, California, USA. The product platforms are from ultra-high-end to low-end Security products.What You'll DoAs a Software Engineer or Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for providing functional test support, order verification, and HW quality support. You will "shift-left" by engaging early with Hardware & Software Design, Diagnostic, Global Mfg Ops, and Reliability Engineering teams.As a Development Engineer, you have knowledge of Python coding and CI/CD methodologies and tools used to deploy our solution. We are looking for a results-oriented engineer who thrives in an Agile team environment. You are self-motivated requiring minimal direction leading and working with Design Teams & Contract Manufacturers. You seek constant improvement of product test development. You are energized and hard-working and willing to learn new tools and build new processes to dynamically grow the business.Responsibilities:Deliver test strategies and test plansDevelop and deploy automated tests and processesApply Software design principlesDevelop code primarily using PythonDefine and Design robust Test and Mfg Test FixturesHandle test capacity, expansion planning, and executionTest optimization & Yield improvementEarly engagement during Concept Commit & PrototypingTrain Partner on products and test development tools & proceduresReveal Root Cause and drive Corrective Action upstreamWho You'll Work WithWhen you join the team, you will be part of a highly motivated Development team. The team not only values the current business needs and is constantly exploring new innovative ideas to change the business.Who You AreMinimum QualificationsMS in CS, CE, CIS, MIS plus 2+ year experienceBS in CS, CE, CIS, MIS plus 4+ years' experienceProficient in Software Programming - Python & BashProficient in Coding StandardsKnowledge of SCM - Bitbucket & GitlabExperience in configuring servers, switches, & routersIndependent, adventurous, and takes initiativeAdapt quickly in an iterative fashionPreferred Qualifications Agile methodology - ScrumMaster CertifiedCI/CD process & tools - Jenkins & Static AnalysisProficient with automation platformDesign lab experiments for Root Cause investigations to acquire Corrective ActionHardware architectures, design concepts, and engineering development practicesDrive resolution of hardware design and diagnostic issuesKnowledge in Manufacturing Environment & ProcessesLiaison between the Partner and CiscoWhy Cisco?#WeAreCisco.
