$1,000 Sign-On Bonus NuCara Home Medical is seeking a full-time Wheelchair Technician for our Oskaloosa location. This position will be responsible for wheelchair and equipment deliveries, service and repair in the Oskaloosa, Ottumwa and Iowa City areas. Who We Are NuCara Home Medical is Central Iowa's leading independent provider of Home Respiratory and Home Medical Equipment. What We Do What we do matters, and our Wheelchair Technician plays an important role in allowing us to provide top quality patient care. As a Wheelchair Technician, you will be responsible for the following tasks: Maintain, service and repair wheelchairs and other home medical equipment both in store and in patient homes Receive, unbox and assemble new equipment as it arrives Inspect and test equipment according to manufacturer's specifications Complete and update maintenance records in computer system Process documentation and paperwork necessary for insurance billing Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Our standard hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Who Should Apply Prior service and repair experience in home medical equipment or a related field is strongly preferred for this position, but we are willing to train the right candidate. This position does require the ability to lift, position and maneuver heavy loads from 50 to 150 lbs. on a frequent basis, and maneuvering heavier wheeled items on flat surfaces and up and down ramps. This position does require frequent squatting, bending and twisting. Candidates must be able to follow directions, be detail-oriented, and have basic competencies using a smartphone, iPad and desktop computer. The ability to drive a company van is required. Familiarity with medical equipment is a plus. The preferred candidate will live in or near Oskaloosa, IA, but candidates from anywhere in the territory are encouraged to apply. As an accredited company, NuCara Home Medical requires that candidates successfully pass all required pre-employment screenings prior to starting employment. Required screenings for the Service & Repair Technician position include a criminal background check, OIG Exclusions List screening, drug screening, Physical Capacity Exam and Driving Record check.
