The Welder/Maintenance Tech will perform various welding and repairs on trucks trailers and equipment in the Nome Fleet in accordance with all manufacturers' recommendations, and company policy.This requisition is continuously posted due to the frequent nature of openings and it is also intended to create a pool of qualified applicants who will be interviewed for openings as they occur. If you wish to be removed from consideration, please log into your account and click on "Withdraw" next to the job title in the Dashboard page.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. * Work with the Shop Foreman to repair maintain all equipment in AGC, BSDC, SQI and SVI's fleet and keep it in safe, working order. * Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done to equipment. * Other Duties as assigned.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required (Minimum) Qualifications * Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License * 3+ years of experience welding and fabricating. * 3+ years of Mechanical experience on equipment ranging from lite duty passenger vehicles through heavy hauling on road tractor trucks.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics * Ability to Weld, fabricate and perform repairs on equipment in the Nome Fleet. * Ability to work independently without supervision.Preferred * Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License, Class A * Certification in WeldingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
