Job Description Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Weld metal parts using spot welding gun, hand, electric, or gas welding equipment Preheat workpieces preparatory to welding or bending, using torch Fill cavities or correct malformation in lead parts; and hammer out bulges and bends in metal workpieces Examine workpiece for defects: Measures workpiece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications Dismantle metal assemblies or cut scrap metal using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment Position and secure workpiece using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools Select, position, and secure torch, cutting tips or welding rod according to type, thickness, area, and desired temperature of metal Guide and direct flame or electrodes on or across workpiece to straighten, bend, melt, or build up metal Fuse parts together, seal tension points, and add metal to build up parts Fill voids in other departments in sheet metal as needed, i.e. grinding, deburring, tumbling, etc. Other duties as assigned Knowledge of welding and sheet metal machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Experience reading and interpreting blueprints Ability to use all metal and welding measuring devices Possess an understanding of proper heat and time settings Ability to differentiate between metals, galvanized, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. Tig welding on stainless steel experience a plus 3 years’ or more experience in metal fabrication Qualifications Welding: 3 years (Required) TIG welding: 2 years (Required) High school or equivalent (Required) Total Rewards Starting your first day, Sealed Air offers our employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package with Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, and Vision), Wellness Programs, Life Insurance, Retirement Benefits (401k matching program), Profit Sharing and other perks such as: Competitive PTO that increases with tenure Legal Plan coverage & Identity Theft Protection 10 paid Company Holidays Auto and Home Insurance Unused Sick Time Payout of 100% Pet Insurance Health Savings Account – including HSA contributions and wellness incentives Recognition Program Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Educational Assistance Company Paid Paternity Leave Scholarship Award Program Company paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance Requisition id: 42675 Relocation: No The Company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants for employment and to all employees, without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, protected disability, veteran status, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state or local laws.
