We are hiring a Senior Project Engineer. The Senior Project Engineer ASME Development will lead design, simulation, and development of products within AMSE - Engineered Products (EP) portfolio and will be act as ASME Person in Responsible Charge (PRC) per ASME code, as well as mentor and further mature our ASME engineering team. As the PRC this individual will be ultimately responsible for all ASME design calculations and drafting changes. We are seeking an experienced, top-tier engineer that thrives in fast paced, diverse, and entrepreneurial environments and excited to take technical ownership. Responsibilities Lead engineering product design from concept to production trials through Product Concept to Product brief process with internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for all ASME Calculations and drafting changes to ASME product per ASME Section VIII Div I. Lead product part design of components and accessories; work with external consultants and suppliers to refine design further, prototype and manufacture at scale. Work closely with Corporate and Plant Engineering for optimized manufacturability. Lead and perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for rapid design iterations. Outsource and manage simulation (FEA, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)) when beyond team skillset or available resources. Facilitate and participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D/FMEA) as well as cross functional design reviews. Build engineering drawings for design reviews. Manage REVIT and vessel submittal data. Introduce best design practices and frameworks. Provide engineering mentorship and input to vision as the team matures and expands. Participate in Voice-of-Customer research, translating needs to product requirements and building customer loyalty and empathy. Be a bridge and champion of cross collaboration among technical and sales partners. Desired Experience Strong mechanical and manufacturing technical foundation. Experienced in all stages of new product design and realization. Proficient in static loading, small deflection Finite Element Analysis and other simulation techniques to improve product performance, cost, and decrease overall risk. Practical understanding of common part manufacturing methods and design constraints. Business Acumen - Identifies cost and risks at the component and sub-assembly level to meet defined cost targets. Strong communication skills; comfortable and effective in presenting and distilling complex technical topics to the business. Respectfully challenges and confident in voicing opinion. Software proficiencies: CompressCalcs, ANSYS, SolidWorks CAD and FEA. Highly collaborative and able to quickly build trust across multiple disciplines including design, voice of customer, quality, procurement, supply chain and project management. Demonstrated track record of project leadership from concept to launch of large cross-functional teams is preferred. Familiarity with codes and regulations such as TC, NSF, IAPMO, CFR 49, and ASME. Comfortable working in ambiguity. Self-motivated and team player. Strong desire to innovate and own delivery of project outcomes. Excited to work in fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
