Water Meter Reader - Seasonal

Under the direction of a Water Lead Worker reads, cleans, repairs and replaces water meters and lids, reports the results as requested.Flexible hours may be possible during daylight hours.Part time/ SeasonalOpen until FilledDUTIES- Assists in the reading, cleaning, maintenance, repair and replacement of water meters.- Reports damaged or broken water meters to the appropriate supervisor.- Walks along a pre-determined route and reads water meters.- Records results of reading on the proper form.- May assist water maintenance crews- Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSMust be at least 16 years old. Must possess a valid Utah Drivers License.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESKnowledge of meter repair helpful. Must be tactful in dealing with the public. Must be able to function electronic devices. Must have the ability to maintain accurate records and the ability to perform standard mathematical computations quickly and accurately. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather. Must be physically able to stoop, bend, kneel ,stretch and walk long distances. Must be able to handle frequent light lifting (up to several hundred times daily), and occasional moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds).
