Pay Grade: WHSE Applicants must satisfy job qualifications including work authorization, residence and/or language skills for the country in which the job is located unless Company-sponsorship is specifically stated as available. Job Description LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN Follow all safety requirements. Certify Hazardous Materials Shipping Documents to comply with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) policies and regulations. Staging material for loading ensuring proper bracing and blocking if required. Loading and unloading tanker trucks and railcars. Area cleanup. Other duties as assigned. Materials and Equipment Directly Used Electric powered fork truck and yard tractor used for spotting trailers for loading. SAP (inventory management system), Computers, Microsoft software products, and any equipment unique to the department. Working Environment Will be required to work shift work including weekends, and holidays. Working at heights (top of railcars, tanker trucks and tanks, etc.) Physical Activities Will be required to climb upon railcars, tanker trucks, and climb stairs. Duties may involve working outdoors with a potential to exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 55lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing and/or sitting. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Prepare tanker & box trucks for shipments from plant. Ensure proper handling of production raw materials, including staging and loading. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED One year of related experience Demonstrate mechanical aptitude Bulk truck and railcar loading and unloading experience is preferred DOT General Awareness training is preferred Established in 1932, Stepan Company is a major manufacturer of basic and intermediate chemicals including surfactants, polymers, as well as specialty ingredients that go into consumer, household, and institutional products such as laundry detergents, shampoos, and surface cleaners.
