VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION COUNSELOR DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT The successful applicant must possess a High School Diploma/GED. Master's Degree in Social Work or Rehabilitation required (or in process of obtaining). Associates Degree in Chemical Dependency (LAC preferred). Solid interviewing skills with the ability to communicate with individuals with limited capabilities or individuals who may be challenged. Must have solid foundations in Psychotherapy Theories including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Theory and other closely related theories. Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working with computer systems. Must have at least 5 years of experience working with a wide variety of disabilities and substance use issues. Local community knowledge of resources available in terms of services, medical community, educational resources, educational settings including living arrangements. Documenting problem solving skills. Experience with and familiarity with vocational and diagnostic assessment. This position is subject to a background check in accordance with Public Law 101-630, 25 USC Section 3201 and Public Law 101-647, 42 USC Section 13031. The background check also includes child protection service checks and driving record checks. This position is a mandatory reporter of child abuse and neglect situations. All applicants are required to submit a Tribal application, supplemental questionnaire for background investigations, copy of relevant transcript, a copy of current valid driver's license, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT and if claiming veteran's preference, a copy of the DD214 must be submitted to the Tribal Personnel Department. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period.
