The Coker University Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for two positions of Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminology beginning August 7, 2023. These are 9-month positions with competitive salary and benefits that report to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences and may become tenure track positions in the second year. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate in Criminology, Sociology, or a closely related field; ABD will be considered. The interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities is required. Teaching responsibilities include a wide variety of courses serving the Criminology major and the general education curriculum with both face-to-face and online teaching assignments at the undergraduate level (credentialing preferred for online teaching). The University is seeking individuals who are passionate about teaching; apply inclusive pedagogy; are dedicated to working with students in classroom; desire to develop meaningful, collegial working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across campus; are eager to contribute interests and ideas for student success; and are committed to actively contributing to Coker's mission.
