Visit SLO CAL is responsible for promoting the community as an attractive travel destination and enhancing its public image as a dynamic place to live and work. Visit SLO CAL's mission is to inspire travel, foster unique experiences, and champion the quality of life to create life-long ambassadors and economic growth for SLO CAL. Through the impact of travel, they strengthen the economic position and provide opportunities for people in the eight (8) authentically diverse communities they serve. Built on research with a strategy of continuous improvement, Visit SLO CAL strives to be a favorite West Coast destination known for its signature slower pace of life and unique mix of incredible, immersive guest experiences including beaches, wine regions, and urban settings. Visit SLO CAL is seeking an accomplished, collaborative President & CEO to lead a passionate and motivated team of 18 with a budget of $9M. The President & CEO will oversee the organization's operations, culture, values, and mission. The successful candidate serves as the strategic and visionary leader serving the Board, investors, elected officials, partners, stakeholders and the community to promote SLO CAL to domestic and international travelers. The ideal candidate will develop and foster a supportive and collaborative workplace culture that empowers team members to thrive while leveraging their individual strengths to drive organizational success. A passionate advocate for destination marketing and management, the new President & CEO will display a track record of positively impacting residents' wellbeing while growing tourism. The ideal President & CEO candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of executive-level leadership of an organization related to the tourism, destination marketing organizations, convention & visitors bureaus, or the hospitality industry; experience with a focus on sales and marketing - ideally a current CEO or senior executive from another DMO of similar scale, complexity, funding sources, and market focus on the leisure traveler. Expertise in high-level collaboration, with genuine passion for tourism and ability to position Visit SLO CAL as a unique, authentic destination for visitors. Ability to attract, engage, develop, and retain top caliber talent by fostering an inclusive, collaborative, results-oriented work environment that empowers and develops staff. Action-oriented, self-motivated, and able to move organization forward with urgency and relevancy. Able to work outside of traditional business hours as needed. Operates with the highest level of integrity, intellectual agility, vision, and positive attitude to motivate and represent all that Visit SLO CAL has to offer. Demonstrated experience working effectively with an influential board to advance the regional priorities and achieve impactful outcomes. Proven record of treating people with respect and dignity; promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of business and civic life. Emotional intelligent leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Possess expertise on tourism issues relevant to Visit SLO CAL to make well-informed and mission-related decisions which command the confidence and respect of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Tourism, or related fields. An MBA or advanced degree and/or candidates with an industry certification such as a CDME (Certified Destination Management Executive) are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
