At Huberman VR Lab, we are interested in how fear and anxiety is visually created in our brains and body, how we cope with it, and what happens when we cope with it poorly. We are looking to better understand the physiology of anxious emotional states and test the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions to help shift negative states. If you are currently dealing with anxiety symptoms, we invite you to apply to be a part of our study on anxiety and therapeutic interventions at our Virtual Reality lab in the Stanford Neurobiology Dept. Basic eligibility requirements are: Male – Have current symptoms of Generalized Anxiety or Clinician Diagnosed w/ GAD -- 18 or older -- Able see a computer screen without glasses (contacts OK) -- Able to spend approximately 2 hours @Stanford University. The risks associated with this study are potential motion sickness, eye fatigue from the virtual reality display, or increased distress or anxiety resulting from the virtual experiences. The benefits which may reasonably be expected to result from this study are discovery of a treatment that is easy to implement and useful to alleviate emotional disturbances.
