Position Title: Video Teleconference Technician Work Location: Rock Island Arsenal, IL Job Summary: Kai Honua, LLC has an immediate opening for a Video Teleconference (VTC)Technician. The VTC Technician supports mission-critical media operations and communications for our government customer that is responsible for providing IT services and support. The VTC Technician will be responsible for supporting communication events and facilitating and coordinating connections of various media resources to stand up Video Teleconference (VTC) and UC connections across geographically disperse locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance: Schedule and manage telephone meetings using phone conference, VTC, and UC systems Troubleshoot problems such as joining, conducting, and participating in phone conference, VTC, and UC meetings Support various operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks for a variety of media systems, including live and delayed streaming broadcasts Perform system integrity and connectivity tests to ensure system availability Assess and report on performance and usage numbers Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including Do D STIG requirements Develop and maintain documentation of all processes associated with administration of the network and duties performed by network & system administrators Other duties as assigned Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge of VTC technology and equipment and coordinating VTC type meetings across multiple sites. Customer service skills, and experience fielding and troubleshooting customer questions and issues Experience supporting communications/media systems such as: phone conference systems, VTC systems, UC interfaces, live and delayed streaming video, and digital signage technologies Experience with Video Teleconference (VTC) and Unified Communications (UC) technologies Experience with media/VTC/UC vendors and technologies such as Polycom, Microsoft Lync (Skype for Business), VBrick, Sonus, Cisco, Ectocryp, Acano, etc. Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory/GPO integration with SCCM Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements. Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements. Abilities Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Associates' Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred 1+ years of experience performing VTC systems administration functions preferred Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary. Must have valid driver's license Clean driving record Occasional use of company vehicle while on work site Security Clearance Position may require a Do D security clearance. Must be a US citizen.
