Spence-Chapin is seeking a passionate and creative Video Editor Intern to join our Marketing team. The Video Editor Intern will develop impactful videos and film to raise awareness about adoption, share stories, and promote our programs and services. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in video production focusing on storytelling and documentary-style approaches. As a courtesy, Spence-Chapin will offer a travel stipend for participating interns.Spence-Chapin is a non-profit organization based in New York City that has been providing adoption services and adoption support for more than 110 years. Key Responsibilities: Conceptualize, plan, and storyboard video projects that align with Spence-Chapin's mission and goals. Edit raw footage using industry-standard editing software to produce high-quality videos for various platforms, including social media, website, and promotional materials. Incorporate text animations, motion graphics, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and convey key messages, statistics, and emotional narratives Ensure that all video content meets branding guidelines and reflects the values and messaging of Spence-Chapin. Collaborate with marketing team to gather feedback and make revisions to video projects as needed. Assist with other communications and marketing initiatives as assigned. If in New York City, film video content, including interviews, events, and documentary-style footage. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, such as film production, media studies, communications, or a related field. Strong proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar programs. Demonstrated experience in filming and editing video content, with a portfolio or reel showcasing previous work. Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling, visual communication, and text animation. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of adoption-related issues and/or experience working with nonprofits is a plus. Availability to work a minimum of 7-15 hours per week during the internship period.
