Vice President, Accounting ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Effectively lead a team of accounting professionals. Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities in accounting operations, including the Government cost accounting function. Specific experience required in revenue recognition matters particularly focused on EAC, ETC, WIP, and COGS for multi-year projects and a strong understanding of ASC606. Overseas the current financial accounting system effectiveness, including a strong focus on continuous improvement of the accounting process, workflow, and automation. Partner and aid implementation of systems, including new ERP, and leverage technology to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies, streamline accounting operations, and improve the employee experience Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions and ensure all accounts are reconciled monthly through Blackline software. Working closely with other leadership, ensure accuracy, timely, and completeness for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings to achieve less than ten days close to include financial statements. Work closely with the FP&A team on reporting efforts and monthly accruals related to budgeting and forecasting. Responsibility for enforcing accounting policies and procedures of the company; Responsible for the timely preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Lead the annual external financial statement audit and ensure timely completion to comply with ownership and covenant deadlines. Responsible for assisting in the development of policies, procedures, and systems to support a rapidly growing organization; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent CPA preferred 15+ years of accounting experience in a large or mid-size organization Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and services accounting practices Government contractor accounting practices, including knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA, and DCMA. Must be proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems. Experience with Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, or Jamis preferred Excellent leadership skills, including good verbal and written communication skills.Excellent leadership skills including good verbal and written communication skills. Work Arrangement: Hybrid in Solana Beach. Less than 15% travel expected.
