The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota is hiring a Full Time Pharmacy Technician to join our established Specialties Department! The preferred applicant will be an experienced veterinary or medical professional with an interest in inventory, pharmacy, project management, and collaboration between multiple departments. Role Title: Pharmacy Technician (CVT or CPhT) Will consider non credentialed candidates based on background, knowledge, education and other factors. Department: Specialties Shift: Evenings (2:00pm - 11:00pm) 36 hour workweek. Schedule: Variable - Rotating schedule options. Weekends Required, no more than 50% per month. Holidays are required, no more than four per year. Schedules are locked in 8 weeks into the future, so we cannot make changes without your approval within that time frame. Compensation: Hourly, dependent on skills, education, credentials, and other factors. Shift Differential Eligibility: Eligible - $4/hr on top of base hourly wage Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance provided at up to 80% covered by AERC. Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and EAP provided at no additional cost to you. PTO accrual based on tenure. Uniform, Pet, and CE stipends available, and more. The primary function of the Pharmacy Technician in the Specialties Department is to assist the specialty and emergency departments in the acquisition of pharmacy related inventory and supplies, along with other tasks in the hospital. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician is expected to promote professional growth through education and learning opportunities. This position will report directly to the Pharmacy Team Lead. You will answer phone calls, enter data into the electronic medical record platform, perform financial transactions, and reduce client anxiety by troubleshooting issues related to client service process, service failures, or other problems including identifying and resolving the problem through effective decision making and escalating issues when appropriate. You will function as a liaison between the client and the clinicians and technical teams, so it is vital to demonstrate patience, interpersonal communication skills, empathy, and compassion. Continued Professional Development. Skills can be taught. We value training and professional development. You will be provided with a minimum of 16 training shifts before you're set free to save lives. When you succeed, we all succeed. This is a non animal handling role. Although you will not physically be handling patients often, you will work closely alongside them while focusing efforts to providing the best client care and support possible to both clients and the referring community.
