About us Balsam Animal Hospital is a small, idependantly owned, full service veterinary hospital in Waynesville, NC. We are seeking to fill a position in a fast-paced and challenging line of work, but it is often incredibly rewarding! Must have veterinary experience (~1yr) High school diploma or GED required Must be available to work Saturdays Must be able to lift up to 50lb Must have strong communication skills, good judgment, work well in stressful situations (medical emergency), and work with others on a team respectfully. The job duties for this position will include, but are not limited to: organizing, making appointments, answering phones, dealing directly with clients, billing, venipucture, assisting with patients, discussing finances with clients, patient care, laboratory duties, treatments, and dispensing medications as instructed.Other important skills include medical record notation and maintenance, housekeeping duties throughout the facility, administrative duties as assigned, inventory, OSHA awareness and compliance, exceptional customer service, and maintaining a practical knowledge of the hospital's procedures, services, preventatives, and policies.The expected manner of every team member is to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations, use appropriate medical terminology, and to support practice ownership, management, and fellow team members at all times.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $14.00 - $22.00 per hourExpected hours: 20 – 40 per weekBenefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Retirement plan Schedule: 10 hour shift Rotating weekends Experience: Veterinary: 1 year (Required) Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Work Location: In person
