Description:
Provide food and water in measured amounts using diet instructions providedClean kennels and enclosures as instructed. Based on the shelter type, these may be wire crates,permanent kennels with or without a divider, Magnum panel temporary kennels, shoreline kennels, or another type of enclosure that may be indoor, outdoor, or partially covered. Launder towels and bedding as needed Empty, wash, and sanitize dishes, toys, and enrichment items daily Conduct daily welfare checksRecord and report any medical or behavioral concerns or observationsComplete daily observation forms with accuracyPrepare and distribute in-kennel enrichmentRestock and organize supplies dailyAssist with shelter maintenance and special projects, as neededMaintain cleanliness and safety of aisleways, kennel areas, and shared shelter spacesMonitor inventory and report supply needs as directedSafely and humanely handle animals as needed to accomplish husbandry tasksWhen applicable, safely and humanely handle dogs in and outside of the kennel for potty breaks, exercise, socialization, walks, or as otherwise instructed.Attend required briefingsUtilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and safely when requiredAdhere strictly to instructions regarding managing infectious diseases and caring for vulnerable populationsFollow all established protocols and processes, written or verbal, understanding that eachdeployment experience may differ from the lastPerform additional duties as assigned Working Environment: Working with and around animals, some fractious or diseasedPotential exposure to zoonotic diseases (possible transmission to humans)Working in extreme hot or cold temperatures for long periodsWearing PPE for long periodsWalking up to several miles per day over rough, uneven terrainStanding, bending, twisting, reaching, repetitive kneeling and squatting, lifting, and carrying supplies
