A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A VETERINARY ASSISTANT As an entry-level Veterinary Assistant, you are vital to our practice. Each day, you arrive at work eager to render loving pet care. When patients arrive, you use your excellent customer service skills to greet them and help them feel at ease. Our clients appreciate your compassion and rely on your clear judgment in times of stress. Next, you obtain patient histories and prepare each animal for an exam. Using your training, you help with pharmacy, radiology, hospitalization, dentistry, and surgery tasks. As part of your duties, you take radiographs to correctly diagnose a problem. You also help in surgery by prepping the patient and serving as a surgical assistant. Conscientious about precision, you chart all that takes place and ensure that each medication is dispensed accurately and as prescribed. Whenever you get the chance, you educate our clients and help them understand how to best support their pets in their health and well-being. You feel great about making a difference in the lives of our clients and their beloved pets! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VETERINARY ASSISTANT Passion for working with and helping animals Strong customer service skills 1+ years of veterinary experience would be preferred but isn't required for this entry-level position. Individuals with experience in other departments of a veterinary hospital looking to grow into this position are encouraged to apply! Are you eager to help and motivated to succeed?
