Vac Truck Operator- Construction Services

Position Summary: Coordinate and perform activities of the hydro-vac truck equipped with tank body to excavate, transport and dump loose and/or wet materials. Perform necessary laboring functions in support of crews. Driver will need to be available for on-call service response in emergency situations. Position Responsibilities: Adhere to all Company Safety Policies and Code of Conduct Vacuum excavates, transports and dumps loose and/or wet materials such as sand, gravel, earth, stone, asphalt or waste products. Takes detailed records of exposed utilities within excavation; follows company procedure in marking utility depth on road surface. Coordinates schedule to efficiently provide hydro-excavation services. Prepares vehicle with appropriate water, materials and tooling daily. Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to loosen and dump materials adhering to tank. Inspects and maintains air compressor, water tank, hosing, boiler and tank and additional equipment, as required. Dig, spread and level dirt, gravel or sand using hand tools. Respond to emergency calls as needed. Exercise proper care, maintenance and operation of company equipment. Work harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times. Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required. Responsible for the day to day maintenance and cleanliness of the entire truck. Requirements: Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and a knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads. High school Diploma or equivalent combination of experience. Ability to read and write English Minimum 1 year of previous construction general labor experience. Ability to follow specific directions and make recommendations to perform a variety of duties, work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, make decisions based on measurable criteria. Must possess or have the ability to pass and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs). Physically, workers must be able to stand or walk for long periods, use hands and arms to reach for, handle and manipulate objects, lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Good eyesight, (either naturally or with correction) required. OSHA 10 (company provided training) Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen R.H.
