Job Title: Diagnostic Radiological Technologist-Cardiovascular (DRT-CV) Location : Minneapolis, MN Summary: FAR Group is looking for a successful and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Diagnostic Radiological Technologist-Cardiovascular (DRT-CV) Requirements: The Candidate shall meet the minimum following requirements:• To be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or Registered Radiologic Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)• must have current and active experience in: Electrophysiology Procedures and Interventional Cardiology procedures in a Cardiac Catherization Suite• shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences• CPR/ Basic Life Support by American Heart Association• Must be Certified peer recovery specialist• Must have Knowledge of radiation techniques and protection standards for the proper use, quality control and preventative maintenance of single and biplane x-ray systems, contrast injectors, image management systems, recording, duplicating analysis, playback equipment for angiography and angioplasty procedures. Specific Duties/Tasks: • shall cover the range of highly specialized invasive radiological, cardiovascular, structural heart, intra coronary ultrasound and complex electrophysiology procedures as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility• must be able to independently carry out a variety of complex physiological and radiological procedures.• performs highly specialized invasive radiological cardiovascular, structural heart, intra coronary ultrasound and complex electrophysiology procedures without the direct supervision of a Cardiologist. Required to have full knowledge of radiation techniques and protection standards.• Complete variety of complex physiological and radiological procedures ordered by and/or in collaboration with the Physicians or Cardiology Fellow without direct supervision.• Special procedure radiographic exams for patients include, but are not limited to: cardiac catherization's, percutaneous coronary interventions, coronary stent placement, coronary atherectomy, coronary flow evaluation, fluoroscopic imaging, intravascular coronary ultrasound, electrophysiology testing, radio frequency ablation, endomyocardial biopsy, temporary and permanent pacemaker implantation, automated cardiovertero-defibrillator implantation, Swan Ganz catheter placement, peri-cardiocentesis, tilt table testing, iliac, visceral and peripheral angiography and venograms interventional radiography.• Advises team members and visiting professional on radiation protection measures.• Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to: patients, staff and self.• Observe the patient's condition, making notation of pertinent information, vital signs and other clinical information in accordance with the established practices and in response to physician demand or changes in the patient's condition.• Recognizes serious patient abnormalities and individualizes each procedure to the needs of the situation to produce reliable results.• Determines the critical isocenter value necessary for accurate exams.• Confers with Cardiologists to establish requirement of non-standard• examinations and determine technical factors, positioning and proper angulation to achieve optimum views of specific vessels and/or lesions.• Make adjustments to equipment: frame rates, exposure time, kV, mAs settings, shutter openings, cardiac shielding, magnification factors, source intensifier distance to decrease radiation exposure.• Performs proper calibrations on pressure transducers to maintain the accuracy of arterial and venous pressure tracings.• Prepares patients for angiographic, angioplasty, Swan Gan placement and temporary pacemaker placement procedures and preparation of A-Line setups adhering to aseptic and sterile techniques.• Perform duties in the Cardiac Catherization Suite during procedures such as: diagnostic cardiac catherization's, balloon angioplasties and electrophysiology studies.• Using equipment to obtain physiologic measurements such as: cardiac pressure transducers, thermodilution cardiac output computers, blood gas oximeters and oxygen consumption computers.• must be alert and recognize changes in patient's condition, including emergencies, which may necessitate immediate intervention.• Coordinates verification of medication doses with Registered Nurses as second verifiers on the procedure table.• Observe special precautions for critical care and the operating room areas relating to their specialized equipment.• Maintain records of patient, examinations and digital disc archives, radiographic film badge exposure records and radiation safety equipment in a secured database.• Operate fluoroscopic equipment used in angiographic testing.• Current on practices for removal of indwelling arterial and venous sheaths and the achievement of hemostasis post procedures.• Measurement/Identification and analysis of electrocardiogram waveforms, intervals, segments and complexes.• Application of oxygen therapy and analysis of pulse oximetric measurement.• Performance and analysis of standard 12 lead electrocardiograms.• Data input, editing and analysis of Hemodynamic Monitoring Unit (Mac-Lab Data input, troubleshooting and analysis of the digital X-ray unit.• Performance of non-invasive blood pressure measurements with the identification of normal/abnormal values and initiation of the treatment plan.• Operation of medical equipment including: video equipment, CD archiving system, ECHO archiving system, contrast media injectors, EKG recorders, pressure transducers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, intravascular ultrasound machine, flow wires, rotoblator unit, dash portable monitors, EP Med monitoring station, EP mapping unit, oxygen equipment, suction equipment, CD recording units, defibrillators, Bovie cautery unit, power injectors and Acuson TEE unit.• Makes multiple simultaneous changes in settings and adjustments in operation of equipment during an exam to ensure accurate results.• Evaluate and assess new equipment, or new techniques derived from the equipment.• Recognize electrical hazards and other outside factors which affect the technical accuracy andquality of the procedure.
