Wilkes University invites applicants for an open Biology 2 and Earth Science high school teaching position in the Upward Bound Program for the summer session. Upward Bound is a federally funded Trio Program, which provides support to participants in their preparation for college and ultimately, in their higher education pursuits. The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the academic component of the Program, by means of teaching core content and pairing these two courses together from said content and activities, to a small group of high school level students in each class period. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, and/or a related field is required. This is a part-time/temporary position with a competitive hourly wage. Program dates run from June 19th through July 27th and classes are held throughout the week, Monday - Thursday (8:00 A.M. - 12:00P.M.). Instructors may or may not work the entire 4 hours, depending on the class size and student need; minimum of one (1), 50 minute class period, Monday - Thursday.
