DTE Oregon Upholsterer Job Posting Forest Dental Equipment in Hillsboro is hiring full time Upholsterers. Our Upholsterers produce finished upholstery for dental chairs and stools by preparing, cutting, and assembling. If you enjoy the Upholstery craft and like working in a positive work environment at a company that maintains a high level of quality and accuracy, this position may be a great fit for you! Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities : Prepare materials for upholstery by following standard work processes including various methods for gluing foam and preparing fabric for Examine fabric, foam, sub-straight frames and other materials to locate defects. Ensuring quality standards are met on all parts of the Draw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints, using chalk, pencils, paint, or other Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design Fit, install, and secure material on sub straights, using hand tools, power tools, glue, and/or staples. Repair and/or replace dental chair upholstery using knowledge of fabric and upholstery methods. Operate sewing machines as needed to various sections of covering Fully understands the paperwork for each build. Preferred Qualifications Ability to comprehend verbal and written work instructions and Understanding of the fundamental concepts and practices for industrial sewing helpful. High school diploma/GED Minimum one-year experience in a production environment. Familiar with the fundamental concepts and practices for upholstery prep. Proven competency as an upholsterer utilizing the tools and equipment required. Physical Demand Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms-length, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
