Role: Technology Support Specialist Reports to: Director of Technology/ Chief Network Engineer FLSA Status: Non-exempt Contract Days: 195 days Retirement: TRS Key Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical support to students, teachers, and staff in the use of hardware, software, and peripherals Utilize on-line problem tracking/reporting system Produce and maintain a schedule for computer hardware maintenance and repair Manage the removal and relocation of obsolete technology from assigned facilities in accordance with departmental and district policies and procedures Install and configure software, hardware, and peripherals on computers and other devices Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all technology equipment and software Assist in the implementation of new technology projects Provide training and support to users in the use of technology Manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights Ensure that all technology systems are up-to-date and secure Maintain inventory of all technology equipment and software Coordinate with vendors for the repair and replacement of equipment and software Collaborate with the IT team to maintain the school's technology infrastructure Adhere to the guidelines of network security Review current development literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies and administrative directives Perform all prescribed activities outlined in the Professional Development Plan according to the time lines indicated Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community. High integrity, excellent character, and good professional reputation. Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks. Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students particularly during emergency situations.
