Tunnel Tech - LEAD (Electrician) Position Summary Electricians are to perform, certify, and permit all electrical work required to keep the client facilities and network electrical systems in good working order and within contractual performance compliance. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. Knowledgeable about NEC codes and requirements and all work will be performed in accordance with current NEC. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose causes of faults across the full spectrum of electrical assets and systems in a timely manner. Implements cost-effective and reliable repairs to NEC standards. Must maintain quality workmanship Must work in collaboration with other trades, maintenance teams, and inspectors Required to be available for emergency response rotations as need for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Electricians should be able to demonstrate knowledge of electrical assets and systems found in complex industrial electrical environments. Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free. Must have the ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job. Electricians should also possess the ability to cooperate and communicate with co-workers, fellow specialists and field and facility supervisors. Electricians should be able to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply divide, calculate proportions, percentages, measurements). Must also be able to understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and electrical schematics, and applicable electrical meters. 24/7 Operations- Availably for holidays, nights, weekends, overtime, and 3rd shift are required. On call duties as assigned. JHE Must be willing and able to respond within contractual guidelines Education and Experience HS Diploma or GED License-Electrical Journeyman (or higher) in Kentucky/Indiana (Required) Licensed electricians shall have five (5) or more years of experience in residential and/or commercial electrical systems, including interior and exterior lighting (Required) Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (Required) Work Conditions Work Environment Exposure to live traffic when responding to roadway/traffic incidents. Frequent exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes or airborne particles. Exposure to moderate to high noise level. Frequent exposure to outdoor conditions such as extreme heat, cold, wet, and humid weather. Frequent exposure to insects, reptiles and rodents. Physical Demands Must be able to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands, fingers, handle, physically feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and clearly speak and hear. Ability to lift, up to, 50 pounds unassisted. Ability to use labor-intensive and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work at elevated places/locations such as working from bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts. Ability to work in confined spaces.
