Description: Position Overview This position is responsible for material handling and processing for truss, floor, and panel systems in a bi-lingual (Spanish/English) production setting. Essential Job Duties In-feeds lumber into saw and provides project-specific direction for sawing activities on a variety of sawing equipment; typically, these are standard setup, relatively routine projects. Makes angle and length adjustment to cutting equipment to product parts on cutting list or batch specifications, ensuring accuracy of cuts. Plans and assigns work tasks in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related production goals. Develops saw skills and experience on different types of saws in order to increase own versatility and productivity for component production. May perform minor adjustments to saws. Stacks cut lumber after processing. Adheres to OSHA requirements and company safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers Inspects equipment daily and notifies leadership /maintenance personnel with equipment issues. Have a thorough understanding of shop drawings and/ or computerized production software. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education: High school education and/or equivalent work experience. Experience: 1+ years prior shop experience in component assembly. Skills: Ability to operate equipment such as automated saws/CNC, staplers, nail guns, routers, and various saws. Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer. Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish. Should have the desire to produce quality product with a team effort in the assembly process. Physical demands include exposure to extreme temperatures, lifting up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Dusty and noisy environment when operating woodworking machines and tools. Ear protection required, eye protection and closed heel and toe shoes required at all times.
