49444 - Regular - Representation: PWU Job code: 00005802 Pay information: Schedule 30 / Gr. 11 Salary range (hourly): $66.58 - $66.58 Hours of work (per week): Flex 24 Hr Mon-Fri Wk Shift work: Yes Number of positions: 1 Town/City: Orillia, Ontario Department: OPRTNS&CST EX / SYS OPRTNS / CNTLR SEC4 Jurisdiction : The primary function of this position is supervision, either shift supervision in a 12-hour, 24/7 environment or day work supervision. This position will also perform the functions of the Transmission System Operator position. Accountabilities Ensure safe working conditions for supervised staff and direct supervised staff in safe practices Responsible for knowing the capabilities and limitations of the staff under their direction. Responsible for seeing that the actions of supervised staff are not creating hazards to the public or othe groups. Responsible for the implementation of safety programs outlined by immediate supervisor/manager. Initiate timely corrective action on any unsafe conditions brought to their attention. Responsible for conducting safety meetings when required. Endeavour to motivate supervised persons towards the proper safety attitude. Be responsible for seeing that the quality of work performed by supervised staff under their supervisors consistent with Corporation and operating standards and recognize where Utility Work Protection Code requirements are applicable. Make recommendations on quality, standards and control. Make effective use of supervised staff and equipment under his/her supervision to obtain acceptable output of work. Create proper attitude by own example. Perform duties as assigned in the ‘mentoring program’. Ensure that the performance of supervised staff is satisfactory on the job by taking initial actions to correct performance deficiencies.
