Join our passionate Human Resources team at Shreve Memorial Library! We're seeking a dynamic Training and Development Specialist who is passionate about employee growth and development. As the Training & Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and developing our workforce that will promote a positive organizational culture. If you have a knack for creating engaging training programs and facilitating impactful learning experiences, we want to hear from you. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assess training needs, develop solutions, and scale effective programs. Lead routine operations and long-range planning related to system wide training. Adapt teaching methods to diverse audiences. Design and execute system wide annual training efforts Act as the organization's Ethics Training Liaison Perform other duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or related field. Minimum of two years of professional experience in assessing, developing, and delivering employee development training. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Certification in ASTD and/or PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP is highly preferred. Previous experience in public libraries is highly desirable. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Good knowledge of current technology. Significant knowledge of Human Resources training and development, adult instructional and learning theory, instructional design, curriculum development, training methodologies, and competency assessment. Establish and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to groups and individuals. Comfortable presenting to both large and small groups. Strong organizational, analytical, and reporting skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to stand, or be on foot, for long periods of time, sit in one place for long periods of time, usually working at a computer or laptop (keyboard, mouse, monitor, touchpad); speak for long periods of time with little breaks. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, and crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds. Employee must frequently push and/or pull loaded book carts weighing up to 75 pounds.
