Part time weekend positions are currently available. More hours are available in the summer. The main job of Cave Educators is to be stewards of the cave: protecting it, maintaining it, and teaching its wealth of information to our guests. We provide tours to schools, tourist groups, and the general public. No prior knowledge of geology is required. All training is provided. Job Responsibilities include: Presenting the cave, its science, and its history to the public in the form of either traditionally guided or museum-style toursWorking above ground in the gift shop to facilitate the sale of goods and servicesGeneral cleaning and maintenance of the gift shop buildings and caveProviding exceptional service to guests across the property at all timesRequirements for This Position include: Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of timeGood level of comfort when public speaking or serving guestsAbility to ascend and descend several sets of stairs over the course of an hourWork a minimum of 2-3 days a weekWork a minimum of 4 hours per dayAbility to lift 30lbsAt least 16 years of ageAbility to pass a standard background checkWorking at Cave of the Mounds rewards you not only with unique skills, but also an exclusive reciprocity membership for tourist destinations across the state of Wisconsin.
