Description:
Unique position to use your therapeutic and editorial skills to improve the lives of older adults. The ideal candidate has experience running groups or working with people who are experiencing dementia/cognitive decline. This highly organized person will create content that fuels a music-based approach to treating dementia, depression, and social isolation in more than 500 senior-living communities and hospitals across the country. The person in this position will oversee and organize freelance writers, designers, and internal staff including music therapists and company co-founders. This remote position is designed to be filled by one full-time person, though we are open to splitting it between two part-time people, given the right candidates. Successful candidates will have: Experience working with people who have dementia, ideally in a group setting.Exceptional organizational skills.At least four years experience managing publishing deadlines.Highly polished writing skills with a knack for adopting the particular tone of our company, an understanding of editorial voice, and solid line-editing skills.A firm grasp on the operational details of quarterly print publishing, managing deadlines with many dependencies, and the ability to guide others through the process.The proven ability to manage a dispersed creative team.Extra consideration for candidates with: A degree in music, dance or art therapy.Firsthand experience with, or extra special knowledge of, the music, performers, entertainment, public figures, history, food, events or fashion trends of 1900s through 1970s or some portion thereof.Experience in a startup environment.Experience with product, interactive, or educational design.This is a remote position.
