JOB OPENING CITY OF FARMINGTON JOB POSITION #100: THEATRE TECHNICIAN NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 2 DEPARTMENT: PRCA WORK LOCATION: Varies HIRING RANGE: $14.00 per hour DAYS WORKED: Varied HOURS WORKED: Varied TYPE OF POSITION: Temporary, Part-Time APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL: Open Until Filled JOB DUTIES Resumes submitted without a City of Farmington application will not be considered in our job selection process . ESSENTIAL DUTIES Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. Acts as a community contact and representative of the production company which presents performances at the direction of the City of Farmington Office of Cultural Affairs. Maintains the Artistic Director's vision of the production during their run. Generally, works with and for the Technical Director to complete the assigned tasks as set forth by Artistic Director and the Producer. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. Works under the supervision of the Technical director Supervision is exercised in this position Will be required to climb and to hang and focus lighting instruments. Responsible for operation and installation of light board and sound board and other technical equipment. May be required to operate lighting and sound equipment, including sound board, lighting dimmer system, spot lights and focus and gel of theatrical lighting instruments, for events at the Lions Wilderness Park Amphitheater and other related facilities. Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City. Set up and tear down of equipment for events, including electrical, sound and stage. Assists in maintaining continuity of the show. At all times, encourages a positive attitude among actors and production crew staff. Performs minor maintenance on equipment. Attendance at work is an essential function of this position. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. QUALIFICATIONS This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program. This includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing. Valid driver's license is required Extensive background checks required. A minimum of one (1) year experience in performance productions preferred. Ability to work a varied work schedule to include evenings and weekends. Ability to work harmoniously with a wide range of people. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public. Ability to operate tools and equipment listed. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Personal computer, cell phone, "clear com" systems, various power tools or portable radio, "genie" personnel lifts as well as various theatre technical equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus and hear details. Will be required to work at heights up to 25 feet from ground level.
