S UMMARY// Hybrid Gym & Café Staff are key customer facing employees, seamlessly working between the Front Desk, the Café, and throughout the gym. Gym staff per form the majority of the daily gym duties, including managing daily desk and gym operations, membership management, customer service, merchandise sales and facility cleaning duties. This role also p erforms floor monitoring duties ensuring adherance to set safety standards. Café Staff maintain the cafe, provide upbeat, friendly, and professional service while taking orders and serving patrons. Prepare food for patrons while ensuring recipe adherence, plate presentation, and uncompromising quality food. GYM STAFF DUTIES// Welcomes guests & members , ensures proper check-in's , and enforce wavier and entrance polocies ; Complete facility tours with an emphasis on amenaties, offerings, and member benefits; Sign up new members, ensures active memberships, collects appropriate membership paperwork, updates customer information and ensures membership procedures are followed; Answers phone, takes messages, obtains prices quotes and answers basic climbing and facility questions; Communicates facility offerings, events , & promotions to members; Performs sales work, such as assisting customers with merchandise , promoting memberships and gym offerings , exchanging merchandise and acepting returns ; Support Event's team during small to large scale events, ranging from competitions, music series, vendor markets, etc; Fulfills daily cleaning duties such as laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning of facilities; Performs scheduled walk-through s , noting areas of concerns or issues on I-pad; Delivers some climbing training instruction when necessary ; Communicate facility, customer, or risk related issues with management; Additional duties as assigned ; FLOOR MONITOR DUTIES// Monitor climbing area s looking for appropriate certification tags on all climbers/belayers and compliance with posted facility rules ; Looks for proper TR belay/ lead belay/ lead climbing techniques. Addresses areas of concern in a friendly, non-confrontational manner; Addresses any unsafe behavior observed; loose kids running in unsafe fall zones, guests sitting on mats, gear/personal items on mats and not in cubby space, running, or other behavior inappropriate for the climbing gym; Performs TR and lead climb/belay tests and Autobelay orientations, in accordance with set guidelines as needed by the Front Desk ; Act as staff touch point for member and guests in the facility; Communicate escalated customer issues with management teams CAFE DUTIES// Ensures customers consistently receive an excellent level of customer service; Educates customers by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions; Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures ; Prepares hot and cold beverages to patrons in an attentive timely manner; Serves alcoholic beverages to the patrons table; Prepare food items, maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet our specifications and exceed guest expectations; Creates daily specials; Stocks storage areas and assists with inventory; Fulfills daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, bussing and wiping down tables, washing dishes and general cleaning of eatery/kitchen REQUIREMENTS// Friendly, approachable and service-oriented; Strong verbal communication skills; Strong organizational skills; Customer service and/or sales experience preferred ; Minimum of one year serving experience; Minimum of two years cooking experience; Diploma from a culinary school is a plus and may substitute for work experience; Ability to works nights and weekends , with shifts ranging from early mornings to late nights ; Climbing gym experience a bonus as well as Rock Gym Pro experience; Passion for climbing and ability to learn , use , & care for climbing merchandise; A superior level of member service and conflict resolution skills; Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple responsibilities; Self motivated, and an interest in staying busy and filling idle time; First Aid/CPR Certified required upon hire ; Utah Alcohol Certification required upon hire ; Food Handlers card required upon hire; Be able to collaborate and innovate as a means to create exceptional value for our members, our company, and ourselves. JOB HAZZARDS// This position is exposed to airborne chalk, dust and cleaning supplies. And may be exposed to objects falling from great heights when safety monitoring or belay testing . Other hazards fall ing while providing instruction or demonstration and trips and falls caused by obstacles on the ground such as ropes and climbing gear . Other hazards are falling from slippery surfaces after they have been cleaned, being exposed to hot liquids and steam, loud noises. Potential of cuts and scrapes from kitchen utensil use.
