Description:
The Associate Consultant Media Relations is responsible for supporting BCBSA's proactive, earned media strategy to advance the organization's strategic objectives, drive coverage of key initiatives, and promote a positive industry and brand narrative.Monitor press inbox, facilitating real-time responses and interviews with BCBSA experts.Assemble and distribute morning news clips and news alerts to senior executives as needed. Monitor industry trends and stay informed on policy issues impacting health care.Assist with the drafting of talking points, press releases, media advisories, executive briefing documents and other materials.Assist with drafting pitch notes to reporters for introductory meetings, new research, and other messages on BCBSA prioritiesContinuously update and maintain organization media lists. Help identify and elevate opportunities to engage with key reporters on Twitter.Use Cision software and newswires (when applicable) to distribute media advisories and press releases.Work in partnership with insights and analytics team to manage the tracking and reporting of media coverage.Manage operations for media events including materials preparation, assembly of press packets, list building, RSVP tracking and on-site execution.Required Education:Bachelors Degree - Communications relatedRequired Experience:2 years of media or relevant experienceSkillsWritten and oral communication and editing skills.Knowledge of AP style.Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results.Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and handle ambiguity.Interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the media and other key stakeholders.Customer focus and unwavering integrity, with character and behavior that is consistent with the mission and values of the BlueCross BlueShield Brands.Ability to translate technical and complex information into simple, relatable languagePeople ManagementNo#LI_HYBRID
