Made Possible.JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position will primarily be responsible for determining the acceptable quality levels in the Printing, Cutting, and Finishing departments through auditing, sampling and observation. They understand and align business operations and Quality Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. * Conducts audits on each piece of machinery in the printing, cutting and finishing departments using the quality assurance check list. * Sets up Spectrophotometer daily and other tests on an as needed basis. * Pulls quality customer samples from production floor or warehouse daily. * Makes Customer sample books when needed. * Performs various office work, including filing and logging of information and statistics.BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS: * Manufacturing experience preferred * Knowledge of various carton defects and their causes. Knowledgeable in mathematics. A self-starter capable of working on and completing multiple tasks. PC skills required. * Experience with carton processing. Prior QC experience or exposure helpful. * Knowledge of customer specifications. * Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with upper management and customers. * Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and analytical skills. * Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Must have the ability to create and decipher charts and graphs.EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Clear and professional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. * Knowledge of various carton defects and their causes a plus. * Ability to perform intermediate/advance computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access); SAP knowledge a plusSCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: * Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off. However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. * Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule. * Must be willing and able to work overtime.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods. * Awkward and/or repetitive movements. * Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job: * Position is associated with walking (back and forth from QC office to presses), standing (making inspections), handling (sorting cartons, operating test machinery), and visual acuity at short distances (to observe carton for defects). * Physical demands commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job: * Technician's vision must be acute at short distances (20 inches or less) in order to inspect for quality of flat cartons.
