Job summary The Technical Engineering Resource is an entry level engineering position with opportunity to grow to Process, Plant, and/or Project Engineer. The position provides leadership and technical insights for operations and leads small projects. The position may work some period of rotating shifts as scheduled to develop operations skills, working closely with Team Leads responsible for team safety, production, quality, costs, and management systems of the plant. Summary of essential job functions Provide technical leadership and supervisory leadership for operations and maintenance technicians Troubleshoot issues of the day and develop plans with maintenance and engineers Train technicians in technical aspects and theory of the process Work with Plant Engineer to support engineering and operations, including implementation of long-term fixes Manage small projects Analyze data, daily reports, process trends, lab data, and process control Develop, review and update SOPs for process and maintenance Experience B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, or Equivalent Experience Co-op or internship experience desirable Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to talk and/or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch and push or pull on objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will require the use of safety equipment and clothing. Where noise levels exceed allowable limits, hearing protection is required and provided.
