Overview: The Canadian Tax Analyst is a corporate tax role reporting to the Senior Manager, Canadian Taxation. This role will be involved in assisting and supporting tax planning, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing and tax audits, with emphasis on Canadian tax compliance, accounting and financial statement reporting and other general corporate tax work or projects as required. Please note this role may be based out of our Florenceville, New Brunswick or Toronto, Ontario corporate offices. Job Responsibilities: Preparation of quarterly and year-end Canadian income tax provisions Preparation of Canadian corporate income tax returns, simple sales tax returns, non-resident tax compliance, withholding taxes and other tax filings on a timely basis Review, monitor and respond to incoming tax backssments and notices Preparation of working papers to support the quarterly and annual forecasts of tax provisions for the Canadian entities Preparation of investment tax credit schedules and related corporate filings Maintain tax continuity schedules for all Canadian corporate income tax accounts and assist with month-end close and account reconciliations Assist with researching and responding to income tax audit queries Calculating federal and provincial installments Researching and analyzing various ad hoc tax situations Assisting with process improvements by building efficiencies through automation or streamlining tasks Qualifications: Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Accounting designation is required (or working towards designation) Minimum 3 – 5 years tax and audit experience Must have related experience in preparation.
