Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to manage and oversee our clients' tax compliance needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts effectively. Responsibilities: Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns accurately and in compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Conduct tax research and analysis to identify tax planning opportunities and ensure optimal tax strategies for clients. Assist clients with tax planning and compliance, providing guidance on tax implications of business decisions and transactions. Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax information, answer tax-related questions, and provide tax planning advice. Review financial statements and accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness for tax reporting purposes. Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate updates and implications to clients and internal stakeholders. Assist with tax audits and inquiries by preparing documentation, responding to tax authorities, and representing clients as needed. Collaborate with internal teams, including accounting and finance departments, to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance. Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery. Participate in professional development activities to enhance tax knowledge and skills, including pursuing relevant certifications and continuing education. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm. Deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, Lacerte) and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and colleagues. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Strong client service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
