Position Title: Systems Engineer Role: Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) – Hyperspace Deployment Administrator (HDA) Role description The Systems Engineer is a critical, hands-on role involved in administering Epic Web and Citrix Servers. They manage the configuration, deployment, proactive monitoring and maintenance of Epic Client Systems applications. Job Responsibilities EPIC Windows infrastructure management on VMWare virtual machines. Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production Web & Citrix server components Design, install and implement high availability solutions. Responsible for capacity planning and performance management of critical servers and applications . Manage the load configuration and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of hardware as well as the tuning of software. Design solutions to optimize system performance. Coordinate with other teams on the maintenance and integrity of system interfaces. Expand technical knowledge and stay abreast of vendor offerings. Create and maintain system documentation for specifications, designs, procedures, and logs. Document all processes, system changes/fixes, and issues. Provide customer support, 24x7, for system related issues. Work with other associates on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them. Possess strong knowledge of the business or clinical functions and how they are applied to the system. Troubleshoot the system as an expert to identify any possible faults or potential issues. Design, build, and support directory services, desktop/mobile email, and/or network operating systems in an Internet protocol environment. Running on the servers. Install and test new applications and upgrades. Provide application performance monitoring and tuning. Assist in application problem resolutions. Design, build and maintain system interfaces. Support real-time and batch interfaces with internal and external systems and vendors. Design, build, and support directory services, desktop/mobile email, and/or network operating systems in an Internet protocol environment. Monitoring network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques Performing file system management Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs Installing and maintaining administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals Applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production Web server components Responding to emergency and after-hours issues Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources Collaborating with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks Participating in change control process for all planned application and technical activities Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration Key competencies Expertise in the Microsoft Windows server administration Hyperspace/Hyperdrive management & deployment experience Experience with hardware or software load balancing solutions such as F5 Big-IP or Citrix Netscaler Working knowledge of: Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) administration Network protocols and functionality including TCP/IP, Active Directory, Domain Name Services, FTP/SCP, and HTTP Epic Certifications Desired; ECSA101 - Epic Client Systems Administration - Hyperspace ECSA102 - Epic Client Systems Administration - BLOB, Business Continuity Access, and Printing ECSA105 - Epic Client Systems Administration Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, and System Pulse ECSA110 - Epic Client Systems Administration MyChart ECSA115 - Epic Client Systems Administration Care Everywhere Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Department: Montefiore Information Technology Bargaining Unit: Non Union Campus: YONKERS Employment Status: Regular Full-Time Address: 3 Odell Plaza, Yonkers Shift: Day Scheduled Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PM Req ID: 219788 Salary Range/Pay Rate: $92,235.00 - $122,980.00 For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.
