FWDthink is seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus in CISCO Network to Support a high-profile datacenter migration project in Suitland, Maryland to provide technical leadership and support in all areas of IT planning, solution specification/design, implementation and target architecture development for our Air Force client - the AFNCR. Qualified candidates will have knowledge of information technology commercial solutions and experience designing and developing technical solutions. POSITION NOTES: Target start date: July 10, 2023 Day shift (Possibility of up to 20% telework; ad hoc overtime possible) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, configure, and troubleshoot network appliances (routers, switches, and firewalls) Collaborate with Lead Engineer to identify, assess, and present options for meeting the functional and technical requirements, which may include hardware and/or software. Document and enforce network hardware standards and configuration Manage and maintain IP addressing schema Perform other tasks as directed by Lead Engineers or Project Manager Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format. EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years related experience or the equivalent relevant experience. Currently possess an active Secret security clearance. Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships and external networks. Ability to work independently, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed. Excellent customer-facing skills. Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate . REQUIRED CERTS: Sec+ CE or higher Currently possess one or more of the following: Juniper JNCIA, F5 and CCNA. DESIRED SKILLS & CERTS: Familiar with spine and leaf architecture Experience with VMware vSAN
