I. General Summary: Design, implement, and maintain automated data collection systems to provide timely metrics and analysis to support manufacturing operations.II. Essential Job Functions:A. Work with production leadership to define requirements for data collection and visualization.B. Assist the project team with data collection hardware, network infrastructure, protocol design, and data processing/analysis.C. Design and implement Andon visualization screens and management reporting tools.D. Continuously seek improvements in equipment and process performance.E. Monitor system performance and provide guidance regarding system storage and processing requirements.F. Be responsive to management requests for new features or modifications to existing features.III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Education: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.Experience:* Greater than three (3) years of relevant experience, including client/server networking, SQL database programming, report generation, graphical design and organization of data for Andon visualization.* PLC/HMI programming knowledge.* Knowledge of information flow in a manufacturing environment.* Knowledge of Inductive Automation Ignition system a plus.* Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Personal/Technical Skills:* Strong organization and planning skills, effective time management skills.* Ability to effectively communicate highly technical concepts to management.* Ability to communicate and work well with all levels inside and outside of the organization.* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specification sheets, and component manuals.* Strong verbal and written communication skills.* Ability to compile effective and concise visual reports.* Ability to multitask, manage diversity, and facilitate problem solving and resolution.* Ability to work in a team environment.Language Skills:* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.* Japanese is a plus.Computer/Software:* Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.). IV. Work Environment/Conditions:Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time to TBA plants. V. Physical Demands: Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. May be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
