Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School 5000 14th St NW Washington, DC 20011 www.lambpcs.org Before and After Care Instructor LAMB is looking for professionals who are passionate about working with children and are excited about making a difference in their lives. Our instructors exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude, and a love of learning. Our Before and After Care Instructor will support developmentally appropriate academic and values curricula in a safe environment. LAMB’s Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) Program is committed to providing enrichment activities to LAMB students before and after school. The BASE Instructor is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students can fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. This is a six-hour, split-time position. Hours are 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver enrichment activities for students participating in before care and aftercare. Supervise students in before and aftercare, maintaining a safe and enriching environment for all students. Report safety and student behavior concerns to the Director of the program. Maintain the welfare and safety of students by following school policies and regulations. Work collaboratively with BASE instructors. Attend and participate in mandatory professional development sessions and meetings. Assist with morning drop-off traffic duties. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Must speak English or Spanish Experience working in a school setting with young children Energetic, flexible, imaginative, and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public school Experience planning and implementing extracurricular activities in a school or community setting Ability to work with students of various abilities Possess the ability to work in a multicultural, bilingual environment Meet health requirements, including TB test screening Submit necessary documents for a completed personnel file, including three references, diplomas, transcripts, and fingerprinting and clearance form. FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Reports to: BASE Director Schedule: 10-month, 30 hour/week position (7:00 -9:00 am and 2:00 - 6:00 pm) Compensation Salary starts at $23,638 (equivalent to $20/hour), including 13 paid holidays and paid winter/spring breaks).
