Are you a licensed technician (LVT) with an interest in state-of-the-art diagnostics and cutting-edge surgical techniques? Would you like to join a team of talented technicians and brilliant surgeons? Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists is looking for passionate individuals with experience in surgical and anesthesia monitoring to join our applicant pool for any future openings. The surgery department performs both orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Our technicians participate in every aspect of the procedures and their technical abilities are utilized to the fullest potential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide restraint of pets for examination and treatment by veterinarians. Prepare medications (both injections and dispensed medications) for both outpatients and inpatients. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with surgical procedures. Calculate drug dosages. Log out and administer controlled substances. Induce, maintain and monitor anesthesia; prepare patients for surgery; circulate in the operating rooms; scrubbing in to drape off patient, set up instrumentation and assist surgeon during surgical procedures. Take dictation from the surgeon at the end of the surgical procedure. Cleaning up the O.R after a procedure has been completed so it is ready for the next case to come in. Help the doctors treat patients; assisting in medical or minor surgical procedures such as irrigating wounds, implant removals, medicating and bandaging. Accurately recording all surgical procedures, diagnostics and treatments in patients chart and circling all associated service codes for invoicing. Maintain anesthesia machines and monitors. Access digital radiographs utilizing e-film software. Assist kennel personnel in keeping patients clean and dry at all times Assist ICU technicians and Client/Patient Service Coordinators when necessary. Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties. Starting compensation is based on experience and ranges from $17.00 - $23.00 per hour. Ethos Veterinary Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
