POSITION SPECIFICS: Work with suppliers to maintain and improve the overall quality of all incoming products. Coordinate new product development with suppliers, Streamlight Engineering, Purchasing and Quality Control. Responsible for working with suppliers on continual process improvement opportunities and determining defect resolutions (SCAR’s) when applicable. Work with new product/supplier development team to determine the viability of potential new suppliers. Assist in planning and coordinating Quality Control activities designed to ensure continuous improvement of products consistent with established standards. Oversee the internal auditing program to help continuously maintain the ISO 9001: 2015 and other approval agency certifications. Act as a resource person for manufacturing work instructions, quality procedures, standards, quantitative quality assurance data analysis, and product reliability. Strive for continuous improvement as it relates to quality, reliability and customer satisfaction. **Qualified candidates must be available to regularly travel domestically and internationally to perform vendor evaluations, Quality audits and international product quality assessment and continual improvements. International visits may include quarterly travel to China/Asia for a minimum of two weeks per trip. Candidates must live local to Eagleville, PA office as you will be required to be in the office when not travelling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Management System (QMS) Perform regularly scheduled supplier factory audits. Work with suppliers to maintain and improve the quality of all incoming products. Assist suppliers in developing and maintaining approved product certifications. Work with new product development group to locate and evaluate potential new suppliers. Coordinate new product releases with engineering and suppliers to verify manufacturability and acceptance of quality requirements. Track and monitor performance of QMS, implementing changes to those portions directly related to the Quality Department's functions. Track QMS performance against established quality plans and measurable objectives. Assist in maintaining and monitoring QMS Action Plan for ISO 9001:2015. Plan, schedule and implement Supplier Quality System and C-TPAT Audits. Institute or recommend remedial (corrective and preventive) changes and improvements to product quality. Plan, coordinate, and direct Quality activities designed to ensure continuous improvement of products and processes consistent with these established specifications and standards. Regularly travel domestically and internationally to perform vendor evaluations, Quality audits and international product quality assessment and continual improvements. International visits may include quarterly travel to China/Asia for a minimum of two weeks per trip. Quality Department/Technical Duties Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure quality specifications are identified and attainable. Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Coordinate the use of inspection equipment with quality inspectors. Interpret product specs to facilitate inspection. Provide technical assistance to subordinates and others who perform inspection duties. Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and write corrective and preventive action requests and responses as required. General Evaluate manufacturing processes, vendors and suppliers in regard to quality. Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Develop and implement procedures so that internal Quality requirements are met. Work closely with overseas source inspectors employed by company’s various contract manufacturers. Recommend equipment needed to improve productivity. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field. ASQ CQE and ASQ CMQOE certification. Eight+ years of related experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment. Eight+ years of extensive overseas travel experience focusing on QA visits with vendors. Three plus years of experience in a supervisory role. Lean/Six Sigma training preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and charts. Use probability and statistics to prepare graphs and tables. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be able to use PC, hand tools, a variety of inspection tools and ability to create and analyze mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
