Summary This position is located at US Mint,Headquarters - Protection Directorate. As a Supervisory Police Officer (Inspector), you will serve as second in command to the Field Chief of the United States Mint Police.*1 vacancy Fort Knox, KY*1 vacancy Philadelphia, PA Duties As a Supervisory Police Officer (Inspector), you will: Assist and share with the Field Chief of the United States Mint Police in the direction, supervision and administration of the overall security and law enforcement programs protection programs constituting the operations of the police force, including a constant appraisal of operational efficiency for assuring the implementation of approved maximum security criteria into the program(s) supervised. Participate in the formulation and re-evaluations of the complex physical security systems utilized in the protection of the facility and surrounding areas for proper operation, accuracy and effectiveness. Provide direction and guidance to shift commanders in reviewing work programs and related staffing requirements. Assist in the formulation and development of personnel training needs, scheduling training based on manpower availability. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience: For the TR-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-10/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service . Specialized experience for this position includes:Supervising personnel in a law enforcement environment that has provided experience in the areas of laws, regulations, law enforcement operations, practices and techniques and involved responsibility for assessing, contributing to and administering an inspection program for police operations. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. This position is designated as emergency essential. The incumbent must be ready and able to deploy as required in support of varied contingencies and under severe and austere conditions. The incumbent may deploy for brief periods during a contingency event. A one year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. May be required to File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on. May be required to Undergo an income tax verification. Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all shifts on a rotational basis. May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include equipment belt, body armor, riot gear, etc. All applicants tentatively selected for this testing designated position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and random drug testing while the position is occupied. Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside [Lautenberg Amendment - 18 U.S.C. 922(g) (9)]. Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license upon appointment OR within 90 days of appointment (as appropriate) and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position. Tattoos/Branding/Intentional Scarring- Full sleeve tattoos are permissible as long as they are not deemed offensive, racist or sexist. Visible tattoos, branding or intentional scarring, or body art on the head, face, neck or scalp are prohibited. Any visible tattoos that are offensive, extremist, indecent, racist or sexist are prohibited. Visible body piercings while on duty and/or in uniform, with the exception of agency approved earrings are prohibited.
