The City is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Gas Operations team in the crucial role of Gas Distribution Superintendent. This professional non-union position offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of Gas Distribution operations within the Gas Operations department. About the Role: As the Gas Distribution Superintendent, you will be responsible for a diverse range of duties and accountabilities, including: Supervising, directing, and planning Gas Distribution operations. Ensuring worker compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures. Conducting field inspections and taking a lead role in emergency incident response. Managing project aspects from inception to completion, including financial reporting and budget management. Leading employee development, recruitment, and performance management within the workgroup. Our Ideal Candidate: To excel in this role, you should possess the following competencies: Thorough knowledge of operating practices governing safety, operations, measurement, construction, inspection, and maintenance for natural gas distribution operations. Ability to supervise employees within a unionized environment. Proven leadership capabilities, promoting a cooperative work environment, and organizing, coaching, motivating, and directing subordinates. Quick and proper response under the stress of emergency situations. Ability to facilitate continuous improvements through leading organizational and procedural changes. Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective relationship building. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you should have: Successful completion of a two (2) year diploma in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution. Ten (10).
