The Highway Planning and Design Team at the Department of Public Works is responsible for the planning and design of complex provincial highway projects, from functional design to detailed design. About Our Opportunity As the Engineering Student, you will gain practical experience and receive training and mentorship from highly qualified Engineering professionals. We offer opportunities to participate in training courses for Standard First Aid along with other safety courses. We will provide you with all the required technical and protective equipment as needed. Primary Accountabilities You will assist the Highway Planning & Design engineers in a wide range of duties and have the opportunity to: Assisting in aspects of short to long-range highway planning & design initiatives, including highways, interchanges, intersections & roundabouts; Gain exposure/experience in Auto CAD Civil 3D to develop preliminary concepts & functional designs in accordance with transportation planning & design best practices, with appropriate guidelines & standard; Accompany staff with site visits of past & future project site locations;.
